Makeup Artist & Creator

Hi! First of all, a special thank you for visiting my website—I’m so excited you’re here. Let me tell you a little bit about myself, and I’ll try not to ramble too much. My name is Dani. I was born and raised in Superior, WI, and moved to Minneapolis fresh out of Cosmetology school in 2011. Beauty has always been such a huge part of my life—digging into my mom’s Avon collection, sneaking lipstick and eyeliner to school, doing makeovers on friends—I just couldn’t get enough. I always found it so exciting and still get giddy over a fresh lipstick or new eyeshadow palette. Along with my love of beauty grew my passion for knowledge. You’d find me anywhere with a Cosmo magazine or a DIY Beauty book in hand, learning how to perfect a winged eye or red lip.

I have over 13 years of professional artistry experience, and my medium extends from bridal to editorial to commercial—I love it all, and it’s so rewarding to bring a vision to life. Over the length of my professional career, I’ve been lucky enough to work with beauty brands, beauty/lifestyle influencers, editors, celebrity makeup artists, and of course, local businesses. Beyond artistry, my expertise has expanded to include videography and content creation, where I combine my creativity with technical skills to craft visually compelling stories for brands, businesses, and individuals. From filming tutorials to creating dynamic social media content, I thrive on bringing beauty to life through the lens.

I truly enjoy connecting with people from all walks of life and can’t wait to collaborate with you on your next project!

“How do you apply foundation so it won't settle into wrinkles?“

"The more product you apply, the higher the risk of creasing and settling," says Schmidt. "Spot concealing is a great way to get your preferred coverage without adding multiple layers."

Or, if you really have your sights set on using a foundation, first consider the type of formula you're working with. If you're using a tint or liquid, Frankel says to try applying a few drops to the center of your face with your fingers before gently buffing out with a soft foundation brush.

For creams, try Schmidt's technique. She uses a dense brush for foundation so that she maintains control while applying. After brushing the foundation across your skin, she says to “go in with a damp blender and gently press the foundation into the skin." She says this helps smooth out uneven skin texture as well as soak up any excess foundation that is sitting on top of the skin, which could potentially slide into fine lines. “

“Possibly the best part about using an eyeshadow primer (aside from its benefits, of course) is how easy they are to apply. PR strategist and Sigma Beauty global makeup artist Dani Schmidt says to start by rinsing the lid to ensure the primer is sticking to a clean surface. "Don't apply a thick layer—this can result in creasing and unwanted patchiness," she says. Instead, she recommends using your ring finger to apply a thin layer across the entire lid, extending from the lash line up to the brow bone. "The warmth of your finger will help press the product onto your eye area to really melt it into the skin."
